Michigan Football Is Back

If there was any doubt left after last season that Michigan Football was back, all of it is gone now after the 45-23 win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in Ohio Stadium on Saturday.

The win in Ohio was the first win in that stadium since 2000. It wasn't just a win either, it was domination. Michigan seems to have changed the rivalry now with Ohio State and have taken the upper hand. Ohio State spent an entire year trying to redesign their team specifically to beat Michigan and it failed. They are now going back to the drawing board as Michigan heads on to Indy for their second straight Big Ten Championship game appearance. The buckeye fan base is having a meltdown while the Wolverine fan base is celebrating. This has not always been the case over the past 20 years. It seems that the roles between Ohio State and Michigan have been flipped and it feels great to be on the other side!

Michigan just went 12-0 for the first time since 1997 and have the opportunity on Saturday to go 13-0 for the first time in school history. If Blake Corum didn't get hurt he also likely would be the Heisman Trophy winner. These things haven't been done since 1997 for Michigan and proves that the Wolverines are back where they belong again in the elite group of college football. We have heard so much talk the past 8 years as well with Jim Harbaugh about how he can't win big games and can never get over the hump and win a championship. Now Michigan has been winning nearly ever big game over the past two years and is on the verge of its second straight Big Ten Championship title. It may not have been as fast of a turn around as fans were hoping for when Harbaugh came in, but here we are now and it feels great! Harbuagh has accomplished everything his haters said he could never do. The critics said last season was a fluke but Michigan came right back with an undefeated season and a beatdown of the buckeyes to prove that they are here to stay. Jim Harbaugh has now won in every big ten stadium and beaten every big ten opponent. He has also made it to the College Football Playoff and won the Big Ten Championship. The only thing left to do is win the National Championship which could very well still happen this season.

For someone in their 20's like me it is all a new experience for us. We haven't seen things like this before in our lives and have always heard stories about the 90's and 80's or 70's and all those other great eras and teams of Michigan Football. Now we finally get to experience that ourselves. It seems like all doubt about what this program can do has been erased. There is a championship culture built into the program now and lots of confidence. Michigan owns all of their rivals at the moment and is looking to add another national Championship to its resume. All of the momentum is on their side. Michigan Football is back on top in its rightful place and it couldn't feel any better!

I can't wait to see how the Big Ten Championship game vs Purdue unfolds this weekend as well as the rest of the season. Should be a great ride!
